EditPDF.io is a free online PDF editor. Its main purpose is to change the text that is already in a PDF – a name, a date, an amount, a sentence – without having to recreate the document. Around that it offers the everyday tasks people need a PDF editor for: filling in and signing forms, adding text and images, highlighting, rearranging pages and protecting the result with a password.

Who we are

EditPDF.io belongs to the family of tools run by Converter App OÜ, which also operates converter.app and file tools such as unzip.online, unrar.online and ocr.online. The company was founded by a physicist who worked at particle physics facilities such as CERN, and it applies the same idea to everyday documents: process files precisely and efficiently, and keep them private.

Why this editor exists

Many online “PDF editors” only let you draw on top of a page: to change a word, you cover it with a white box and type over it. The old word stays in the file, the new one often looks out of place, and the result is not a clean document. EditPDF.io rewrites the text inside the page instead, using a full PDF engine on our server, so the corrected document is searchable and reads like the original. How we handle your files

To rewrite text, the PDF has to be processed on our server. It is stored under a random name, used only for the changes you make, never looked at by a person, never sold and never used to train AI models. Every upload is deleted automatically 2 hours after your last activity, or immediately with “Delete my files now” in the editor. All details are on Your files and privacy.

How the service is financed

EditPDF.io is free. The costs of servers and development are covered by Converter App OÜ through advertising on its websites and voluntary donations. We do not sell data, and we do not use your documents for anything other than the edit you asked for.

Built with open source

The editor combines well-established open-source software – among others PDF.js from Mozilla for displaying pages and qpdf for password protection – with a licensed PDF engine for the text editing. The full list is on the credits page.
